I just bought a new SSD for my vpceh1afx model.

I would like to change the Disk Controller Mode from I.D.E. to A.H.C.I. in the BIOS. My bios has very little options, and changing the D.C.M. is not an option. Is there a way around this? Does unlocking the BIOS get me to those settings? Not sure if I posted this in the correct spot. The Bios is a Hydroinsde.

I'm sorry guys. I'm very new to all of this, if there is any other information that someone needs, please let me know. I've never worked on BIOS and just want to get the full effect of my SSD.

I found out that I could go into the device manager and seme what Disk Controller Mode it is set in. Turns out it was already in A.H.C.I. Problem solved.

Click start, type "device manager" look for IDE controllers, it will tell you what mode it is in.
