Lenovo X220 Re-add support for 1866Memory possible?

I believe that it would be possible. Could you provide me with a link to the TPM BIOS please?

~Steven

Sorry for late reply. I thought that X220's BIOS is universal one. There is only one BIOS update file on Lenovo's support page here.

It would be cool if all this could be implemented:

1. Unlocked memory speed 1866 on the systems with active TPM (get rid of "5-5 beeps and delay" problem on start-up without deactivating of TPM itself);
2. SLIC 2.1;
3. No White-list;
4. Working AES-NI (for models that was sold in Russia and other countries that have restrictions in terms of encryption);

Moreover, the ideal-real-state-of-art BIOS mod would also has this two implemented:

5. Working system with 16Gb on board and eGPU (External Graphic Card - for more info click here and here). 16Gb and eGPU works with Bios 1.11, but with new versions the only thing you get is black screen on start-up. I thing it is somehow related to TOLUD size;

6. Unblocked advanced menu in X220 BIOS.

I do not know if the last two are possible to do, but if it is possible, then a lot of people could get workstation that will last for another 3-4 years at least. I would even buy that BIOS from Bios-Mods community, cause I do love that machine.

I can make a dump (backup) of BIOS on my system if there is such need though. Anything for the case!

Hello Simpetus,

I will take a look at the BIOS image you linked to.

~Steven

!!!!!PLEASE READ!!!!!! Our Ukrainian friends are undergoing atrocities right now and need support. There are two things you can do for starters:

1.) Donate to one of various organizations offering medical, military, and psychological support to those impacted: Support Organizations

2.) Combat misinformation on social media.

Also, please feel free to PM me if I have not replied again about your BIOS mod request after 5 days.

The latest BIOS is 1.40. Can someone (BDMaster, maybe) reapply the 1866 patch?

And btw: How can that update be done without Windows? How does one create an iso to update it?

Do not quite understand what you was trying to say Sad . The only thing I understood is that I aligned all those colored wires perfectly, but albeit this, I still cannot make programmer to find the goddamn chip, it just keep saying that the programmer does not connected to any device. Sad  I am desperate.

There are many causes to produce this issue :

Clip not good
Cable connection too long
MoBo absorbiment Power too much
Software not working
etc.

So I cannot help You from distance . . .
I am sorry Sad

Look here Kemod Mod :

It seems the RaspBerry SPI is only able to do this job on X2x0 Laptop, without desolder the Eeprom Chip !
