I have an Xeon E5-1620 and installed it into the Evga X79 FTW but it produces the C error code and will not post or display any video. I switched out the E5-1620 with a I7-3820 and the mainboard will post fine. The E5-1620 is the Xeon equivalent of the I7-3820, i suspect that the Evga X79 FTW bios doesnt contain the microcode for the E5-1620. If someone could add the Xeon E5-1620 microcode to the Evga X79 FTW bios it would be greatly appreciated.
