Abit IP35 Pro XE Intel Option ROM request.
#11
ok, i updated my bios with the slic 10 beta bios, didnt realize it was actually a beta bios, compared to the 11 version bios. but, after installing it, my x3360 xeon chip, it recognized the sse4.1 and vt-x and other computer features on it. i think it does have newer rom in it now, the screen goes by so fast, but i think i read 10 version so. i updated the chipset drivers, i had a 9 series intel ahci drivers, the f6 type drivers. i think i used intels automatic scan program to get them drivers. and after updating, i looked up what to use for the 10 intel rom and it said, 10 series drivers. so i looked up 10 series drivers and got those, and installed them.

i redone a hardrive benchmark test. i also got some malware recently too, so my hardrive tests, theres this place in it, maybe thats it. the bios was fine, it says evaluation and i didnt realize its actually older, or I forgot, but after trying it, it's fine it seems to me. dont know whats updated or not about it. i think the 11 series might besides having different must be cpu codes in the bios, for finding my xeon, and the later 11 bios, not, i think the 11 bios says something in this board, about some wakeup pcie state that has an error, intel pxe cpus, and half multipliler, i dont kow whats in the 10 beta bios, but my 8.5multiplier processor works fine.

so heres the hardrive benchmarks now. [Image: hdbench2.jpg]

the reason I was going to delete the bios download, was because I realized I had version 9 of the intel achi driver installed anywway, so i wasnt for sure of the actual increase in performance. after ive flashed my bios back to the original 11 version bios, that is from abits website, ive kind of tested the hardrive and not noticed much of really an improvement. if it was any, it was like 3-5% maybe. so thats one reason i took down the download, at first. but it put itself back up there, so [censored] it whatever. the other reason, for was though, that i had a few more flashes, it seemed of the screen, before the computer booted to the bios screen, the first time after. i didnt really, remmeber it, and it still after flashign back to the 11 bios, does it. but it seems to work fine. doesnt seem like theres anything wrong. another thing, that happend, was sometime after, i got some spyware, it was during a download install, so it came from that, pretty sure pretty much. well, when it was finally gone, or near it, i woudl try to write files, to my mechanical hardrive, on sata channel like 3 or so. and when i did, it would either, lock up my computer, or lock it up for 10 seconds, then it would come back working. but the drive that was on that channel, had said it was disconnected. the only thing i knew was that it would disappear from My Computer, the E: drive would. c,d,e, and f, are hardrives. all on sata channels 1-4 which are all teh intel sata channels. so, one time i rebooted, ik think i had uninstalled the hardware. when i rebooted, it said installing new devices. then as it started to install the hardrive, it all of a sudden made a fail sound, and said, disconected. i started to back up the drive. when i thought maybe the cable maybe had some problem or something. maybe it was that plugin, or channel. well, all i know is i swapped the E: drive from like sata channel 3 to #5 or #6 one. one of the jmicron channels. you know becuase, its different colored. and i booted my computer up. i could before, copy off the E: drive, but i couldnt write anything and the secodn I did, it would crash and not write files to it. they would usually, disappear. made me think it was the spyware or something. but after switching where the hardrive was plugged in, switched from sata plugin, 3 to #5 or 6, it booted up, and acted fine. works fine, has no problem. so i dont know what happened.

so, the bios was removed or i did, and it put itself back on there, whatever. so, ill do some more tests, check that sata channel and update this with whatever i find out. it seems to me, the speed i seemed to get, was just me running the old intel 9 series driver instaead of 10. if you havnet installed 10, on a ich9r, do it. the only thing i noticed and i didnt do full tests where a 3-5% maybe increase. ok ill do it jsut now just to test..

ok so, there you go. there it is. no real showing change. so theres the information about the bios. im going to probably cehck my sata channel, see what is up with it, and switch back to the newer bios, since it has xeon 775 support and turns on the newer features.
