I have 2 of these boards and the first one booted a 6000+  first try with 4 x 1GB ram modules and everything else connected. The next one would not boot an identical (not the same one) processor on several attempts.

I removed the battery  and set the jumper to clear and unplugged it over night. The next day I moved the jumper back, replaced the battery and unplugged the main components from the board, optical cable, hard drive, front usb ports. The heat sink fan was about the only thing left plugged in along with the power button. I left 1 ram module installed and plugged the power cord in, hit the button and the fan started then after 6 or 8 seconds a beep and it booted to the bios screen. I had to shut it down with the power supply switch. I attached the hard drive, ps2 mouse and keyboard and once back in bios changed a few recommended settings and on to windows.

Removing the battery, etc., did not help. Still the same result. I cannot figure how to get the X4 to work.

Now after boot getting a black window, did clear_cmos_hp, tested using drivers one by one, but the black screen after boot still showing

Why do you need to go back to official 5.27?

I'm not having any problems with this modded BIOS. It just doesn't allow the Phenom X4 processors that I've tried in it even thought the 9600 is confirmed to work earlier in this thread. My X2 5000+ works just as good with this BIOS as the stock 5.27. Only now there are more options available. I'm not going to bother going back to the 5.27.

Maybe you need to look into the steeping or the platform of the 9600 you have. By the spec sheet I would not expect either version of the 9600b to work but the 9600 or the 9600 black should since they both are the cartwheel platform. I just started reading this thread and have a T180 myself with a 4200+.
If I can get a couple of chips to try I might be able to play fortnite at more than 40 fps!

Thanks! I'll check on this if the CPU is still sitting around. I may have installed it in another machine. I can't remember, but I don't think it was a Blask version.

There are 4 versions of the 9600. If you can read the numbers I will. check it out.

I used my Nettle 2 to build a computer that I gave to a cousin a few years ago. I used a 4200+ and a pretty mediocre hard drive. She got a new lap top last year, and she gave it back to me.

I can understand why she wanted to get rid of it, it was horribly slow. The hard drive was never great, but the poor thing was loaded with malware, and she (or her boyfriend) had four or five different anti virus programs on it to try and deal with it - if anything, they only made things worse.

Just playing around, I found out some things: though the NF6P VSTA motherboard I have has the same chipset, it will support 4 gigabyte DIMMs and quad core CPUs, but the Nettle 2 will not (which is too bad because you could have 16 gigs of memory if it did). The Nettle 2 will support a total of 8 gigs of memory, and the X2 6400+ is supported. Combined with an SSD, it's a usefully fast computer, and works well with Windows 10.

Tried an AMD Athlon X2 7750 BE 2.7GHz (95W) in  my Nettle2 with every BIOS in this thread to no avail.  Fans come on, drives spin up, but no beeps & no video, neither onboard nor PCI-E.  680W power supply, 4x2GB DDR2-800.  Works with the stock CPU, AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ 2.8GHz 89W.  Tried fiddling with the core voltage and clock multiplier via the Abit_unlocked BIOS to match the specs of the newer CPU, no joy.  Non-vital system, willing to sacrifice for testing!

Greetings, from the distant future! . Neither of my Phenoms will work with this mobo and this BIOS: not the Phenom II X4 945, and not the Phenom X4 9600.

That is all.
