(07-14-2009, 10:17 AM)TheWiz Wrote: (Yes, I am registered)
Here is the most recent unlocked BIOS for the HP Nettle 3:

Update from kev711, Award moderator, who has provided a working instruction set and BIOS tested on V 2.2

THIS IS IT WORKING BIOS FOR Nettle3 MCP61PM-HM v2.1 and 2.2

PRIMARY:
GeForce6100PM-M2 (V7.0/V7.1) http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product...20&LanID=9

SECONDARY:
Update - Users have been reporting problems with this image, flash at your own risk. The one above should work fine.
DOES NOT WORK for V 2.2 of this board.

NEW TEST BIOS:
See http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-HP...ns?page=28&highlight=nettle3
PC Chips A15G Series

Added:
AMD Phenom™ II processor (Socket AM3) / AMD Phenom™ processor (Socket AM2+) /AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core/ Athlon™ 64 / Sempron processor
Support 95W Phenom™ II X6 processors
4 x Serial ATA 3.0Gb/s devices
RAID0, RAID1, RAID0+1, RAID5 configuration

Overclock with Ntune System Tools to find more settings http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_syst..._6.10.html

Also hit Ctrl + F1 in bios for more unhidden BIOS features

TESTED CPU's
AMD AM2+ Phenom x4 9150e 1.8GHz 65w
AMD AM3 Athlon II 245 2.9GHz 65w -OVERCLOCKED with Nvidia System Tools to 3.4GHz
AMD AM3 Phenom II x4 3.4GHz C3 125w BLACK EDITION Passed Prime95

CAUTION: IF using a (CPU) Processor higher than 95w you will need to UPGRADE to an AFTERMARKET Heatsink. The one that came stock with the HP/COMPAQ computer is not good enough for a high wattage processor

To clarify the instructions on Linux Using Ubuntu Live CD (11.04) (RECOMMENDED FLASH PROCEDURE)

Have files on flash drive...

open terminal
sudo apt-get install subversion
Ubuntu software center (search libpci)
install Linux PCI Utilities (Development files)

Now do (in terminal):
svn co svn://coreboot.org/flashrom/trunk flashrom
cd flashrom
make
sudo make install

navigate to flash drive in terminal: (mine was located at /media/745B-FD7D):
cd /media/{your dir}

backup old bios
sudo flashrom -r bios.bak (will store in curent directory)

now sudo flashrom -f -w BIOS.ROM (or whatever you named it)

run command again if it doesn't take the first time. Then you are done

Hi, and sorry for my bad english.
I've a HP with MCP61PM-HM v.2.2 and an Athlon X2 4450e.
I would to flash the 61M27604 BIOS but under DOS i've found this IMPOSSIBLE because the original HP BIOS is made from AMI but the modded BIOS is from Award.
What i can do to replace the BIOS?!? Can I try to flash il with UniFlash?!? Is it safe to change the Award BIOS with the AMI?!?
Thank you!!!

The link in the first post to a page about the motherboard gives a 404 now. I think this is what it is meant to find:

Hey all!

Im here to report that the primary bios in the OP " GeForce6100PM-M2 (V7.0/V7.1) http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product...20&LanID=9 " is a working bios for the MCP61PM-HM v2.1 Motherboard.
Flashing of the bios was done on a Ubuntu 14.04 installation instead of a live cd.

For those of you who are getting the missing USB header error, you will need to download the usb libraries ( Software Center - Search " libusb " ) this is how I fixed my missing usb.h header error anyway.

I do have the PCI IRQ Routing Table Error and my fans seem to run at a higher rpm but other than that it has been working flawlessly for the past 2 weeks.

This was my first foray into bios modifiaction but I can say if you follow the steps in the OP you should be fine as long as you use the linux flash method. For those concerned about the flash bricking your bios chip, go get a spare one from a ver 2.1 or 2.2 board. These boards are so old my next door neighbor at work, a computer shop (lucky me), had a ver 2.2 board laying around and invited me to take it off his hands. Even if you have to pay 5 bucks for the thing it is better safe than sorry.

I am also happy to report that I am running an AMD Phenom II X6 1055T (HDT55TWFK6DGR), not overclocked, with no issues. I have not explored the options to overclock just yet so if someone out there is running this same setup please shed some light on how to do this correctly.

Good luck and happy flashing.

I am reporthing also to confirm the PRIMARY: GeForce6100PM-M2 (V7.0/V7.1) http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product...tegoryID=1&DetailID=1087&DetailName=Feature&MenuID=24&LanID=0# bios for the MCP61PM-HM v2.2 Motherboard is working.

I had to flash the bios in ubuntu 14.4 not live cd way. my fans seem to run at a higher rpm also.

$sudo apt-get install flashrom

$sudo flashrom -p internal (get your chip name here)

$sudo flashrom -p internal -c "chip name" -r backup-bios.bin

$sudo flashrom -p internal -c "chip name" -w bios.bin

SYNOPSIS

Thanks to @kev711 (https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-H...4#pid24894)
I am on Ubuntu 15.10 and for install the new bios I did this:
sudo flashrom -f -w bios.bin --programmer internal

All is OK, except this error message in bios startup: PCI IRQ routing table error

My spec is:
MCP61PM-HM v2.2
AMD Phenom 8600 Triple-Core Processor x3
6GB RAM

For me, this computer is more fast, after of the BIOS upgrade.

Hey there! I wonder what type of "chip" the nettle3 bios uses. I flashed the wrong bios image to my motherboard and i need to reflash it with my programmer. What type model of the chip is it and what flags should i use when i flash the correct file. I use Multiprogrammer 3.5 and MP utility v1.90 by TJ.

Hello, im using a hp mcp61pm-hm rev 2.2, amd phenon 8550 tripple core cpu and 1 4gb stick of ram with windows 7 ultimate 32bit os and im trying to get more ram(16gb total 4x4gb stick) to work.

will these bios help me, or work at all for me?

Hi all,

I confiorm that the 2.2 rev can be flashed with the ECS bios to look like this board
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product...ailID=1087&CategoryID=1&DetailName=Feature&MenuID=20&LanID=9

have not tried a different cpu yet but in principle it should support all cpu with a TDP equal or less than 95 W even some X6.
No X4 955 however sine they are in 125 or 140W. but yeay, for a board initally limited to x2 5600+ ...

lashing went fine using EZP2010 programmer. Just needed to take out the chip, save the current file justin case of something goes wrong, then flash the ECS board bios, and done !

Win7 installing...

Ps: I think the board is missing AHCI control. It shows SATA or RAID, and in RAID you can disable raid. Perhaps that acts as AHCI. Will give a try...

I have a gateway and it came with the mcp61pm-gm v2.1 mobo. The boards look similar enough. I have read people online have gotten an emachines bios to work on it to get 8gb of ram to work. I'm wondering is this bios mod is compatible with this board? Right now I only have 3gb of ram and would love to have 8gb of ram or more. Also there is a weird glitch that blocks the burning of disks over the sata channel. I read a long time ago that is was intentionally blocked. Can it be unblocked?
Update : emachines 1331 BIOS works great, sata burning is unlocked, RAM limit is also removed. I tested 4gb ddr2 800. So far so good...

I'm sure you hear this alot but I'm new to this and understand nothing of what most is said. I can follow simple instructions found of first page probably. Just want to make sure I don't mess it up.

I have a
amd phenom 9500 x4,
GeForce gtx 760,
6 gigs of ram ×2 2g and ×2 1g,
Nettle 3 2.1,

All I want is to install the amd phenom 2 x6 1065t.

I put it in doesn't start all my research led me here so I hope this is my salvation. So will it work for me?

I can confirm that the Phenom II X6 1065T does work on the Nettle 3 v2.2 with GeForce6100PM-M2 (V7.0/V7.1). I do have the PCI IRQ Routing Table Error but it seems to boot fine. (I did find that if it was booting real slow resetting to default BIOS values rebooting then setting BOIS back up to my operational setting let system boot at a normal speed.)

Just got mine put in tonight. The only issues I had was Windows 10 did not pick up on the CPU change in the device manager or computer properties so the system only showed 4 cores. I had to delete each core of the old X4 9600 from the device manager telling it not to reboot until the last one. Following the reboot all 6 cores showed up and the system properties showed the correct processor.

I am currently running prime95 stress test to validate stability before I try to play with any overclocking. I was unable to get any hidden BOIS settings to come up so when I do OC will be software OC through NVIDIA control panel via NVIDIA System Tools software.

HP Pavilion a6700f Desktop PC
I currently have 6 gigs (2x2 + 1x2) of ram (moving to 12 gigs (4x2 + 2x2) either this weekend or next week depending on when package arrives)
I also have aftermarket compact tower heat sink (SilenX Effizio CPU Coolers EFZ-92HA3 Processor cooler)
EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC GAMING
400w or 450w aftermaeket PS (cant remember which and cant see data plate)
