HP Pavilion DV6-3060EW i7-720 -> 2630QM
#1
Bios link: http://pavilion-dv6-3060ew.takedrivers.pl/503573-bios/ <- i used this to install the latest manufacturer bios
What happens: I read that rPGA 989 is PGA988A and PGA988B compatible, I bought a used i7 2630QM and it doesn't start, it only blinks and spins the fan for a second then shuts off.
Aida ss: in attachments
Spec code: SR02Y

I think this bios might be of use http://pavilion-dv6-6160ew.takedrivers.c...1686-bios/

Socket G1 (PGA988A) and Socket G2 (PGA988B) aren't compatible.

Wikipedia Wrote:(there are Socket G/rPGA 989 sockets that can take Socket G1/rPGA 988A or Socket G2/rPGA 988B packaged processors[citation needed])

So the wiki about socket G1 & G2 is not right?

Just look at the bottom of both your CPUs and find the difference in pins.
