Up until last week it was impossible to add SLIC 2.1 into Intel motherboard bioses. Now the tools leaked out onto the net and you can follow this tutorial to add in SLIC 2.1 into your Intel motherboard bios. We cannot perform this mod for you , it must be done locally on the machine which you want modding.

1. Download the tools below

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/747181/Intel%202...odding.zip

Extract all files

2. Run the "Run Me!.bat" file.

3. Reboot

4. Check with SLIC 2.1 Toolkit , you should have Asus 2.1 SLIC Smile

5. Insert OEM SLP Key and Certificate file as usual (Certificate is included Smile)

Please reply back to this thread stating your motherboard , bios version and also whether the mod worked or not. This will help us to compile a list of compatible motherboard tor use with this tool.

Enjoy!

Do you have an updated link to this file? The Dropbox link is dead.

Thank you.

Will it work on an OEM modified BIOS? I have an MPC ClientPro 385 with an intel DQ965CO board. BIOS version 6000. It has the mpc full screen boot logo. I don't know what, if any, other changes were made.

I know the BIOS has SLP. I used an original MPC OEM XP SP2 disc to install Win XP and it was pre-activated. The BIOS must also have SLIC 2.0 because Vista was an option on this model when new. (No MPC system has original SLIC higher than 2.0 since the company folded in 2008.)

But the oembios and SLIC tools cannot find or do not recognize the OEM SLP or SLIC. I'd like to get that data to add the MPC brand to the community resources.

not sure. with modified OEM Intel boards with Intel BIOSes, it's "hit" or "miss" using oa2intel. Retail, non-OEM based Intel boards with Intel BIOSes have better chance of working when using oa2intel on those. Run SLIC Toolkit 3.2 to check if the board has a SLIC table in the Intel BIOS.

The latest BIOS for the Intel DQ965CO board is version 6100 released in October 2009, a year after MPC went out of business. You may want to flash update the BIOS in the DQ965CO board from 6000 to 6100, reboot and then try using oa2intel to add a SLIC 2.1 table there. Note that updating the BIOS to 6100 may change the MPC boot logo to an Intel boot logo.

I'm still waiting for a new link to download the Intel SLIC 2.1 tool.

I have an Intel D915GAG/D915PSY motherboard. It came from an E-Machines D5039. I would like to add SLP 2.1 to it. Again, it is an OEM BIOS. E-Machines. That fact might be significant.

I need help with the directions.

1. Download the tools below

-->Understood. (I found the alternate link and downloaded the tools).

2. Run the "Run Me!.bat" file.

-->Understood.

3. Reboot

-->Understood.

4. Check with SLIC 2.1 Toolkit , you should have Asus 2.1 SLIC

-->I understand this to mean that I would run an application (SLIC_Dump_ToolKit) and it would detect the SLIC table, which would indicate ASUS SLP 2.1.

5. Insert OEM SLP Key and Certificate file as usual (Certificate is included)

-->HERE IS WHERE I AM LOST.

-->Question 1: I insert the OEM SLP Key & Certificate INTO WHAT? Isn't the BIOS already flashed at this stage?

-->Question 2: I use exactly what software to do this?

UPDATE: Someone please confirm if I understand this right.

A. Okay, it appears the part about inserting the OEM SLP Key & Certificate is about inserting the key and cert into the operating system and not about modifying the BIOS a second time.

B. If someone is simply going to wipe out the OS and install the OEM OS that corresponds to the ASUS SLP 2.1, this step could then be skipped, correct?

C. For example: I modify the BIOS while I'm in XP OS. I verify the BIOS is modified correctly after re-boot. I wipe out the OS and install ASUS OEM Win 7. I then do not need to add the certificate and SLP key, correct?
