I'm 99% certain the only difference between the two boards is the amount of USB ports. The IRIS had empty slots on the PCB, the IRIS8 has two ports added in the rear and an extra port header for the front. You may run into some voltage issues, both boards only support 65w.

Hi Superchad,
The Iris probably won't handle the Phenom line - its just shy of working with that tech. I believe the 5600+ is the best chip to upgrade too as its a 89W TDP chip - whereas if I recall correctly the 6000+ was 125W and is a bit much for the MAX TDP of the Iris board. We haven't tested that specific CPU but that's the golden CPU I've been saying would probably be best suited for these boards, and those 910es are nice, cool, and fast too Hello Sir! Firstly, Thank you for the tremendous work you've put helping us give a second chance with these older systems. I wanted to ask you some questions and apologize in advance for my lack of experience. I've never flashed a BIOS before and am using a MCP61PM-HM Rev 1.0B I'm assuming it's an Iris.
