Need help with locating the BIOS file within the EXE.
#1
good afternoon to you all, been a while since I've ran into any BIOS problems. But right now I'm in a pretty deep issue. I believe I corrupted my BIOS while exit while saving. and while it was saving the settings, I by mistake press the power button. Which caused me a huge hassle. My computer now turns on for a few seconds and then turns off. I hear the fans running for a couple of seconds and one LED blinks before it turns off.

I decided to look online for a way to flash the BIOS to get a fresh start, and I found out that my computer can flash it's BIOS by holding down this key combination.

FN + R

This leaves my computer on as long as I keep those keys held down. So pretty much, I need to locate the BIOS file. and when I download it from Lenovo Website, the exe file I extracted really does not help me decide what file is the BIOS and what to rename it. Could anyone help me out by locating the BIOS for me? This might help save my computer haha.

Here the Lenovo BIOS direct link: Lenovo Y700-15ISK BIOS - https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/cdcn53ww.exe

And if the download for some odd reason does not work. Here is a direct download to the BIOS file.

Also here what my computer model is: Y700-15ISK Laptop (Ideapad)

Attached Files
.zip   cdcn53ww.exe.zip (Size: 5.41 MB / Downloads: 1)

Nothing to read here, carry on.

Hi,
the recovery name for this model is "CD_Crisis.bin".
I've uploaded the BIOS with the correct filename here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4NHIBM...R4UFU/view

You need to copy this BIOS file to an empty and with FAT16/32 formatted usb stick.
After that you can do the BIOS recovery process.

Thanks to you both, I was able to flash my BIOS properly with no problems at all. Thank you DeathBringer and mclarke2355!
