A bit impatient, I admit, I tried various grub variables not even sure they are all correct! For the curious people like myself, what I have tried so far:

Memory XMP profile 1:

setup_var 0x802 0x02      - resulted in my memory using its specified 1333MHz at specified CAS latency, confirmed in HWinfo64.

Turbo boot mode:

setup_var 0x4F7 0x02      - no practical difference in boot up time.

Core Voltage Offset Prefix:

setup_var 0x69E 0x01      - negative offset

Core Voltage Offset value:

setup_var 0x69A 0x78       - 120mv

Fan active trip point 0 (100%)

setup_var 0x2AE 0x3F       - 63c

Fan active trip point 1 (75%)

setup_var 0x2AD 0x37       - 55c

All thanks to mr. Lost_N_BIOS 's guide here: https://www.win-raid.com/t3908f16-GUIDE-...Flash.html  Smile

Sorry, no need to watch a video to unlock BIOS, not sure what you are wanting to show there but I don't need to see anything like that, unless there is some single setting or two you want me to specifically unlock in a menu you can already see. If that's the case, tell me the exact settings, but I doubt they would be in an already visible to you menu section, so you need actual full unlocked BIOS not a settings change

You can change settings like you are doing now in AMIBCP too if you wanted, even on settings you can't see in the BIOS, simply change the optimal default to a value you want and then flash the BIOS. Or, continue in grub as you're doing.

Core Voltage Mode >> This must be set first, to override mode if you want to use xx voltage always, or leave in adaptive and voltage is only applied at Turbo mode.

Core Voltage Override is a digit input setting, you are entering a value in mv
Core Voltage Offset == Same as above
For both, make sure you are entering a hex value for the decimal mv you want - http://online.sfsu.edu/chrism/hexval.html

Offset prefix is set like this (Either 0x1 or 0x0), this is how you set Core Voltage Offset to negative values
Offset Prefix, VarStoreInfo (VarOffset/VarName): 0x69E
One Of Option: +, Value (8 bit): 0x0 (default) {09 07 A1 02 30 00 00}
One Of Option: -, Value (8 bit): 0x1 {09 07 A2 02 00 00 01}

Sorry I'm slow, very busy lately and always behind Sad
Will make you a set of test BIOS now

Thanks for clarifying things for me Smile (I updated the post above)

I guess the video was a question if i had understood things correct. I am getting old at 45 and I am forgetting things and not always good at explaining myself Wink Just take it easy and take your time I will wait. Sorry.

It's OK, I am on slow internet so usually don't want to watch a video anyway unless it's going to teach me something, and I could see at the still image it's about stuff I already know so didn't need to watch it as I'm very familiar with AMIBCP and what it can/can't do and when.

45 isn't old, I'm near there too Big Grin

Yes, if you only want to lower the turbo/under load voltage, then you'd leave that at adaptive. Rest all looks correct, if that's what you wanted. For the voltage, that 100mv is only 0.1v, you know this correct? It may not even be a visible change in software detected voltage, especially at load with fluctuating voltage due to load/vdrop/vdroop etc. But, you may notice slight change sometimes, if you don't see a change at all, try more until you do see it, that way you know it's working.

Here is huge round of initial test BIOS for you to play with Big Grin

Please Test in this order, stop at Setup1aOCP.rom if you now have "Overclocking Performance" menu, and if that's all you need

That BIOS (Setup1aOCP.rom) that was only intended to enable the Overclock Performance menu, if it works and that is all you need no need to test further, rest are attempts at unlocking the hidden full Advanced menu. Also, and I forgot to mention this in the included copy of these comments, if you do go past that initial BIOS to test for Full Advanced unlock, stop when you get it visible and let me know which BIOS it was that unlocked it. No further testing of BIOS after that needed.

And, if it's unlocked, but some setting or submenu still missing, let me know because once the main menu is visible all contents within are easy to make visible if still hidden.

Ok I tried bios Setup1aOCP.rom and now when I enter bios there is black screen. I then tried to flash original bios back but now lock is engaged again. Please advice. Smile

Never mind - I downloaded the 307 bios from asus and flashed it. All is ok again. What next - try next bios or is the black screen indicator of something wrong with the whole set?

Keep going, thanks for report back. No, that simply means that method to unlock that single menu/entry failed, onto the next.
I thought I disabled BIOS lock in all of those, maybe I forgot in that one, sorry Smile
