Reguest Clevo M57A / Chiligreen M57A laptop unlock menu
#1
Hello to everyone!

I have a very old laptop ChiliGreen M57A Style Note, a Clevo M57A clone and I would like to unlock hidden features in the BIOS! (I recently bought OCZ Agility 3 and put into this laptopb but I can't change IDE to AHCI mode - I think the mobo chipset recognizes AHCI mode for my SATA I interface

I am almost 100% sute it is possible.... and then I will be able to speed up my new ssd

BIOS:
http://download.chiligreen.com/treiber.a...70A%5CBios

and direct link to bios:
ftp://download.chiligreen.com/Notebooks/...0A_106.exe

Best regards,
miki

Hello again!

I found today a better source where from the BIOS can be downloaded:

bios version 1.06 - which I am currelntly using
http://downloads.eurocom.com/support/dri...7A_106.zip

bios v. 1.07 newer one but I didn't try it yet
http://downloads.eurocom.com/support/dri...7A_107.zip

on the Eurocom site there is also other files to downlad which may help but I do not know it:

http://downloads.eurocom.com/support/dri...A_H805.zip

I was able to unpack the BIOS with Phoenix_Mod_Tool_1.42 but I do not know what do with the "DUMP" folder and it's files now..

another update..

Clevo support team has forward me the latest BIOS but it is in zip archive and after uncompressing I see a folder M57A_R1.07 where is only one file called M570A BIOS1.07 ffor clevo.IMZ - what can we do with such a file extension? I could try to flash this BIOS maybe it already have unlocked features but how to do it with such a file?

Should I change the file extension to .wph and flash it with phlash16.exe from DOS mode?

PS. I attached here the .zip BIOS file and laptop spec.

laptop spec.

.pdf   M570A DM_v3.0.pdf (Size: 471.51 KB / Downloads: 9)

BIOS forwarded bu Clevo support

.zip   M570A_R1.07.zip (Size: 1,006.15 KB / Downloads: 16)

PS2.
I unzipped the 'BIOS1.07 for clevo.IMZ' changeing the extension to 'zip' after that I get a file 'BIOS1.07 for clevo.IMA' but do not know what to do now..
PS3.
I tried to DUMP the IMA file with Phoenix_Mod_Tool_1.42 but the program returns that there is an 'invalid header at 77493' and later that 'no phonix/dell/insyde/EFI bios'
PS4 Do I think right that the .ima file is an image file which should be put on a floppy or bootable usb and it will be flashed automaticly then? If yes how to put it? Just copy the .ima file directly to bootable usb or it should be done in some special way?
PS5.
I put (I think) the ima file to usb using winimage program - now it looks as a bootable usb disk with DOS files and m57a .wph file ..but which file shut I run to falsh the bios? I am confused : /

Hello again,

For 15 minustes I am running 'M570A_R1.07' updated bios which I received from Clevo support.. I had some problems with preparing bootable usb but innaly I have sucessfully updated the BIOS.. unfortunetally the functions I thought now will be enabled still are locked...

If any of you could help unlocking this bios I would be very very happy.. I think if you would like to solve my issue to work with latest BIOS I found - 'M570A_R1.07.zip' uploaded in previous post?

Hope you will have some time to play with this challenge some day Smile

Mikolaj

I am not sure if it is not too late but I found in my upgraded BIOS (I upgraded from 1.06 to 1.07) that now I am missing 'overclock' menu in the BIOS... I was able if I needed to overclock my Pentium M 2,0GHz to 2,26GHz when it was needed but now this option disappered... I just think that the previous BIOS I had was not direct from Clevo but from my laptop manufactuturer (chiliigreen) who unlocked by himself overclocking menu and the generic Clevo BIOS has this option hidden just for safety reasons? Am I right? Could you unlock the overclock menu as well as AHCI menu please?

Mikolaj

hello!

..small update from my side

I received today an email from chiliGREEN manufacturer who provided me theirs latest BIOS which was.. the old one I attached in the first post.. so no relevations ; )

1.07 from Clevo is the latest one and I think nobody made any newer.. I only found that some other Cclevo brands (eg Sager) issued their BIOSes with unlocked overclocking menu but nothing more.. and sb made a mod? that enabled Fn+F1 and Fn+F2 which give an extra functionality and you can change fans speed form auto to constant max and ability to turn on/off touchpad - nothing really usefull for me ; )

..that is all what I figured out Wink

Miki
