BIOSCOD2.ROM can be found in "C:\Program Files\Phoenix Technologies Ltd\BIOS Editor\TEMP" when BIOS is loaded by editor.

Another step in the right direction. Works with both DIMMs. Smile

Nice news! It's maximum result that can be reached by patching TOLUD.
Add "[Solved]" to this topic's header by editing first post. And please attach the file of mod.

Could you apply the patch to the M22 version of the BIOS as well? I assume it is included because some of these laptops use it instead of M24.
Might be a good idea to bump the versions to F.35 and update the timestamps as well?

I believe I can repack the installer with the two updated files and thus make it easier for average users to apply; it's rather convoluted now as when the HP package is run it extracts into a TEMP folder and tests to see which file to use and renames a copy of the chosen file to BIOS.WPH before giving the user the option to do anything. At this point one must find the extracted files and overwrite the two copies with the modded file before continuing with the operation.

I'll do if you make a dump from such laptop and make new screenshot of Device Manager.

It's bad idea.

P.S. I'm not a tutor for BIOS modding...

Fair enough I suppose. I think it should be included in order to have a "complete" solution and make a clear distinction from the original file (which is highly unlikely to ever be updated again by HP) but everyone has their own opinion.

Hi,

I have been seeing all the followup on ZD8000 Ram limiting Issue and the solution. I have the same prolem and my Laptop Model is ZD8205 and ATI Mobility Radeon X600. I saw you updated a solution and a file was uploaded.

Can you please assist me in how to flash my bios with the uploaded file so that I can fix the same on my Laptop computer.

Thanks.

Post a screenshot of third (Mainboard) tab of CPU-Z.

And open Device Manager, click View at the top of the Device Manager window, click Resources by type, and then select Memory. This should give you an output similar to the picture shown below

Resize such window to show all information. Make and post a screenshot of it.
