Hello people, I know that is issue is very old but a have a IPIBL-LB that was working with a xeon core 4 processor (3.13gh I think) but I have seen that the bios was only the 5.37 and I stupidly, only to test, I update for the 4.43 version and now is not working with the xeon processor. I have read all the post and replies and click in all available links but nothing. I understand that the issue is the firmware the frequency multiplier and is needed to insert in bios the xeon processor reference but I do not have any experience in changing bios software. Like Relax101 and Davidson210 I'm asking for the tweek version of the bios for this board soo I can work again with the xeon. Sorry for the trouble and like Relax101 the link in post #40 is not working for some time. if anyone was this bios tweek version please can send me too petlag@hotmail.com.

Hello! I've been reading through all the threads on this forum about IPIBL-LB, but I couldn't find a BIOS mod that included all the useful updates. So, I had to make one myself. Here it is, tested on several IPIBL-LB motherboards with different CPUs.

Hi! Yes, I know. This BIOS mods maker got the same result. "CPU Frequency Multiplier" parameter really present in this BIOS and by default set to Administrator. I just change it's permission to User. But it still not visible. I don't know why. Maybe it not used for this board, or maybe it avalabe only with some old processors... This will not affect reliability in any way.
I have two IPIBL-LB boards. One in my HP Pavillion with intel RST raid mirror and Xeon E5450. So, reliability is the most important thing I need from this BIOS mod. And another one IPIBL-LB I purchased separately for BIOS testing and other experiments. If I have time, I'll try to play with this parameter. But I’m not sure that anything will work out and that it’s even relevant.

If you look side-by-side comparison E5450 colder and more energy efficient than Q9650, no other difference. I don't know where you find the same price for both. I found that prices for Q9650 speculative and 1.5-2.5 times higher than for E5450 (including sticker and keys for LGA 775 socket). That is all because Q9650 does not require any additional steps to install. In this BIOS mod I uses the latest Intel original CPU microcodes with all stability, thermal, performance... improvements. Therefore it's preferable than original one. Xeon microcodes are also included in it. If I use a modified BIOS anyway, then for myself I chose Xeon.

Thanks for clarification. You are right, I was comparing it with Q9550 (same price as E5450 + sticker).

AFAIK, there is no integrated video on any of mentioned CPU's. Integrated video chip is on IPIBL-LB.
