Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I have a 1000HA with same issue: most recent BIOS, 2204, but no AHCI for my SSD.

Will the BIOS in post # 4 work for the HA?

Do I need to update chipset drivers and/or SATA drivers?

Thanks, and, if I need to start a new thread, just let me know.

If you don't know about the difference between the netbooks and their BIOS compatibility, how could we know? We don't know every specific piece of hardware. Just start a new thread with an AHCI request for your model with a link to BIOS attached. If you use Win 7 you won't need additional drivers as I know. Only if the OS will request them. For WinXP it's a bit more tough - it won't start in AHCI mode without drivers updated to AHCI.

My mistake - I thought that you guys were the BIOS experts; clearly, I was wrong.

Being familiar with modding doesn't mean to be familiar with every single BIOS. If I had all notebooks and motherboards that were produced, I could easily answer your question. But I have only tens of them.

Hi mate,
This is an old AMI Aptio Bios and is moddable using AMIBpc v.3.51 or previous !

https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Eee_PC_10..._Download/

Tutorials here :

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-G...ios-Unlock

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-G...EFI-Aptio4

Here is the last AMIBCP version 4.55 :

Here is a Tutorial to modify AMI Aptio Bios :

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads...MSR-unlock!

Follow CodeRush Suggestions :

It's certanly not so easy for BIOSes with another menu setup, but the whole idea is the same.
I could also recommend trying AMIBCP to modify menu entries vilibility from "Default" to "USER",
if your menu setup is more complex then a setup above.

I have to flash my image on the administrator commandline using afuwinx64 bios_mod.rom /GAN . . .
Otherwise it gives me a security error (Thanks again CodeRush)

Let me know
Regards

All the rest You can do by yourself Wink

P.S. I didn't looke into to find AHCI possibilities but to add Module is not so easy get working one !

I am also trying to figure out how to enter in new CPU and FSB freq to overclock with SHE on a 1000HE. I started by looking at the code in the modded GTX-1000H bios and comparing it with a modded AHCI visible for 1000HE in hope that i could find the freq modules and just (basically) copy and paste the portion of the bios that would allow for a higher (2.0Ghz+) super performance mode in SHE on a 1000HE with the latest asus bios from the support page.

I have seen quite a few similarities to most of the code so far and I am curious if i can just flash the 1000H-GTX bios onto the 1000HE and have it work... typically cross-flashing is a big no-no!, so I wanted to get anyone's opinion before I did something foolish.

Also if anyone is interested in this project and you can teach/delegate so jobs to me in regards to changing the bios i'd really appreciate it. As it stands i'm a complete novice and have only overclocked a raspberry pi (i know laugh your a$$ off) successfully as of now... any help or guidance would really be appreciated..

Thanks!!
