In many BIOS, T-State is disabled. It should not be enabled in my opinion. No way it will damage the CPU. There are preventive measure built in the BIOS to prevent any damage to CPU if the CPU temperature is too high.

BTW, I checked in Sager BIOS .08, .11 & .12, all have T-state disabled by default. The C-State, P-state & thermal management (cooling modes) should be able to control the performance & temperature of the CPU, thus preventing any damage to the CPU. If you monitor the CPU speed, you'll see, with T-state enabled, CPU will be throttling a lot.

I configured the bios turn off the C-state, it is necessary for better overclocking. Yes, I watch the processor speed in real time, you mean in normal mode it will reduce the frequency?? or what?
I understand how, if the T-state is on, when the critical temperature, the frequency will be reduced, is not it?

Quote:T-States are microprocessor core frequency throttle states. Beyond this fact, T-States are not well
documented and thus will not be discussed below. P-States, C-States, and S-States are discussed below.

Hello

Sager NP7280 with the 728BV12S BIOS installed.
I'm trying to install the following video card:
Dell Nvidia Quadro K4100M 4GB GDDR5 Video Graphics Card MXM X8T6N

I think I need to MOD the BIOS to get this working.....
There is a lot of info on this site and I'm a bit lost in it all.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for the tools I need to do this MOD?

I understand the risk of doing this and just want to make sure I'm Using the right tools...

According to CPU-Z, I have the following:

Motherboard
Manufacture CLEVO CO.
Model X7200 Revision 1.0
Chipset Intel X58 Rev 22
Southbridge Intel 82801JR (ICH10R) Rev 00
LPCIO ITE
BIOS
Brand Phoenix Technologies LTD
Version 6.00
DATE 06/21/2011

Thanks either way!
