[REQUEST] Lenovo IdeaPad U310 & U410 (65CNxxWW) Whitelist Removal
Has anyone installed an Intel 6235 in a U410? I am a complete newbie to this and google isn't turning up much. Right now I've flashed the new BIOS with the whitelist removed and am about to install the new wifi card. My question is this: how easy was it to install the card? Is there anything that I need to download beforehand to make sure the card works or is the card plug and play? What about specific disassembly instructions for the U410?

Hello bios guru,

Could you help me to remove the wifi whilelist on my Lenovo U310 Touch? The bios version is 65CN98WW. The linked to my FPT created file is https://www.dropbox.com/s/vqmwej3y6u4vn9k/result.rar

Thank you so much,
cyf

Hi Beejay,

For the disassembly, use this utube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sGwQBiGw-Y
Even for newbs, this is something you can easily do.

As for the compatible cards; no, it is not plug and play. In the BIOS of the U410 there is a Whitelist of adapters which work, and the rest doesn't. I don't really know for sure, but the best thing I got for a whitelist is the Technical guide (found here: http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobi...nglish.pdf). Check page 91 for a list of compatible cards, as placed by Lenovo support.

(there is actually a section on page 57 which points out that if Support finds a specific adapter (which is the cause of the bad signal), they should replace it while serviceing the unit).

Hope this helps for background info
.
In short; You need a BIOS which has the whitelist removed. After that, you can install any adapter you like as long as it fits.

Hi Sovem,

I uploaded my U410 65CN21WW bios again as the download link was only valid for 5 days.
Hope you can help out: http://rghost.net/52849016

Cheers,
Thomas
