A Learning Guide for Using Modbin6 for Award BIOS
#41
Hi

I can't open a bios file for ASUS p4sp-mx with modbin6? It says the following message "Bios version not 6.0". This mother has an Award Medallion bios. ¿What program can I use to modify this bios file?. I'd like to unhide a bios options.
Thi is the link to the bios file:
http://support.asus.com/download/downloa...uage=es-ar
Choose OS and then the newest bios file in bios option.
Regards.

This is an older v4.5 bios. Modbin 6 only opens Award v6.0 bioses.

Ive tried opening this in an older version of modbin for 4.5 bioses but it gives me a checksum error - Sorry!

Thanks for the response.
And what program should I use to open this kind of bioses?

Haha, a version of modbin that opens 4.5. Should be on our download page.

Hehe, It isn't that modbin can't open these Award Medallion bios file, is it?
I've already used cbrom for Award BIOS 4.5 series only, but it displays and extracts one module, white Bios Information Tools extracts almost all of them. And I want to edit the bios options in these extracted modules.

TheWiz

Yes. But it shows the same error mentioned by 1234s282 in previous message: "checksum error".

The only thing I can guess is because its a Medallion BIOS standard tools will not be able to open it.

Hi. I had already tried it without success.
But I found the acbrom 2.08 program (the cbrom program for this kind of bioses) and it can extract and display the modules of the bios file without problem. But cbrom (and acbrom) is only used to extract and add modules to the bios file. And I want to know how I can edit the extracted modules.
In a forum, there's an modded version of my bios file. Thus, it means that they know how to edit the bios options. But how? Have you these skills?
Regards.
