Hello guys, you are helping us a lot with your knowledge!! - keep doin' that.

@AHMED HOSSAM: I have used your BIOS for my ACER Travlemate 240 - works fine!
Only 1 thing: I am installing a new Samsung 160 GB HDD (PATA) and the poor laptop refuses to recognise it..
Is it the BIOS? Does it need to be further modified, or is it something else?

Thanks in advance!

Try disabling SATA in BIOS and try different HDD settings till it works .

Works fine, thanks for the effort.
Travelmate 240 with 2GB of DDR RAM, Seagate 80GB IDE, Mobile Pentium 4 3,06Ghz SL726.
Could it be possible if any of the modders adds to the Intel Advanced Menu the SpeedStep Configuration, Enabled or Disabled?

Thanks in advance.

Hello. Sorry for resurrecting a thread from 11 years ago Big Grin
But the history in this thread will help in better understanding my problem.
I dug up an old Acer from the closet, installed SL725 + BIOS_SLIC mod for travelmate 250 from this post: https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/showthre...9#pid44509
and it works very well. However, wanting to experiment further, I put in SL77R - 3.2GHz with Hyper Threading. The processor is detected by the BIOS, where you can even see a new option related to HT, but after going through the BIOS Post, Windows doesn't load (it stays on a black screen), and changing HT settings doesn't help. Can anyone still have an idea what might be the cause? I specifically direct my question to @AHMED HOSSAM.

Thanks in advance for the response.
