there is only one option for fan and it`s the Smart fan control .
do you want to unlock it ! , i think it will keep your fan running at 100% all time if you disabled it

I have replied to your PM and you reported that the SMART FAN option is not working .
i told you about the DSDT solution and here is another excellent solution :-

First , i will ask you if you have 3pin fan connector or 4pin connector !!

2nd , here is the solution and the explain :-

fans are controlled via EC FW and the EC FW measures fan speeds then decide to turn it off , increase speed or decrease speed .

- in case that there are 3pin fan connector with fan has 3wires like this pic :-

the 3 wires will be used like this :-
1st BLACK ------ GND
2nd RED ---------- 12VDC OR 5VDC
3rd yellow ----------- FAN TECHNOMETRIC SIGNAL

the fan and the EC FW use the 3rd wire to report the fan speed and controlling its speeds .
IF YOU REMOVED THIS WIRE THEN POWER ON YOU NOTEBOOK , YOU WILL FIND FAN ALWAYS RUN AT 100% FULL SPEED ALL THE TIME .

--- In case you found that you have 4pin fan connector like this :-

then you will have these wires in the fan connector :-
1st BLACK --------- GND
2nd YELLOW -------- 12VDC
3rd GREEN ---------- SENSOR
4th BLUE ------------ FANCONTROL

IF YOU REMOVED THE BLUE AND GREEN WIRES FROM THE CONNECTOR THEN THE FANS WILL RUN AT 100% FULL SPEED ALL THE TIME .

Now , you have 2 solutions :-
1 ) modifying the DSDT to adjust the fanspeeds .
2 ) using this posted method for removing the control or techosignal wire .

this solution is 100% working and i made it in my acer 5536G and made my fan run at 100% speed .

let me knew if you need anything .

hi, i have a huge problem...a z5610 with a p01-a2 bios, should be a p01-a4.
it powers but says
"system configuration data updated
ERROR
System configuration data read error"
then i press del or any key and nothing happens, its frozen.
i try a usb pendisk with the correct drivers, pressing esc when powering up i can see something going on about phoenix but then stops...sometimes i can see the bios version installed others not....is the anything i can do to get it going? any help?
dunno if i should post here....im new here...
thanks in advance

Hi Rui , if the problem is only that you need to rename the version to be P01-A4 , i can do this easily for you .

-- The crisis disk should be working for your notebook , you need a usbstick with the crisis disk ( original bios.wph and the other files which the crisis utility copy to the usb ) then you should see the USB LED turning on an off during the flashing process for about 5 minutes .
if you don`t see the usb LED turning on an off , then the crisis disk is not working and you should try another usb stick or use the correct key combination .

-- another thing , have you tried removing the CMOS battery for 10 minutes then try to see if the problem is fixed !

first try removing the CMOS battery then try using the crisis disk .

HI Hassan,

is it possible to adjust/ the fan speed in the EC FW?

So that the first leve could be slow down.

I would be necessary for a thinkpad x121e.

Thank you in advance for your reply.
