As not said! CPU E7600 does not work either with the mod bios on rev. 3.0. The cpu is broken or the mod does not work!

Did you do Load Defaults after BIOS flashing?

Hi all,
I have this old 775i65G R2.0 (2.03 printed on the mobo). It had originally a pentium 4 531 and then along the time, i used other cpus like a pentium 4 630, 541... pentium D 930 if i recall correctly. All of them gave me no lag before the bios post screen.
I have another mobo, an ASUS P5KPL-AM SE, it had a e5200 r0, now it has a e6750, working ok.
The e5200 r0 the asus mobo had ... is now on the 775i65g r2.0 and now there is lag before the bios post screen. It seems like the mobo is trying to calibrate something for this e5200.
The E5200 e0/r0 is not on the cpu support list The cpu is correctly detected, BIOS itself said 1067a/a07 microcode in use.
All the features are there for this cpu.
I moded the latest BIOS 3.30 to removed 01167A07 from the list and added 01167A0B and also added other updated microcode.
Flashed my moded BIOS, named it 3.31 (i wonder if i can edit 3.30->3.31 on bios screens itself).
BUT result is the same. There is some lag before bios post screen. The lag is around 8-10 seconds.
So i wonder, is there something i can do to get rid of the lag?
E5200 uses 200 fsb 800mhz qdr, there is no OC involved.
E5200 is 67A. SLB9T... cleaned the paste few days ago.

I also noticed there is a BUG for the usb detection with all of released bioses for this board. After LOAD DEFAULTS+save+reboot+tweak bios, sometimes pendrives are not seen as *HISPEED* during bios post screen. Without *HISPEED*, usb boot up speed is sluggish, i can use plop boot manager to enable usb 2.0. BUT if i go to BIOS and load defaults+save+reboot+tweak one setting at time and reboot, the *HISPEED* is there. Im not sure who's reading is following what im saying.

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Merged thread...
Kinda read the ultor's thread, it's partly related BUT my thread is not so problematic as ultor's thread.

Now im at this... i wanted to ask... is it possible to set a specific speed for cpu fan in bios? there is only an option for quiet fan but that is kinda useless.

Show a photo with that BIOS page.

Easy. Don't worry, guys. E5200 and E7600 have a fractional multiplier. Most likely this is the reason.
E5200 = 2500 Mhz = 200 x 12.5
E7600 = 3060 Mhz = 266 x 11.5

So it is not possible to modify the rev 3.0? Do I have to resell the motherboard?

Apologies for the thread necromancy, but here is a link to everything I have on Google Drive for the ASRock 775i65G, both motherboard versions, including the requested v3.0 pc.treiber BIOS mod , official BIOSs, as well as official mfgr drivers and utilities. (Actually uploading/organizing as I write, wait 5 min after this post to be sure.) There are also some files for the ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA.
Link: https://tinyurl.com/yncd95h3

The gesture is not entirely disinterested, as I am now attempting to track down the BIOS mod mentioned earlier in the this thread for v2.0 of the motherboard. In my case, a bad ATI AGP card fried both the 775i65Gv3 and 4Core AGP slots during testing (eBay disaster; did not test until months after purchase). I have now purchased a v2.0 of the board, what I could find, and tho happily impressed with it as my go-to DOS/Win98SE board, I'd like to add WinXP and for that need the mod to get the gaming performance needed under that OS.

Anyone have a clue as to the whereabouts of this elusive BIOS mod? Wink

Sorry, do you have board revision 3.0 to use the E7600 cpu? Did I get it right?
This is the bios I have for the previous version. I hope you will help me too, now.

Yes. It is among the files in the link above, but here is a direct link: https://tinyurl.com/24uk8zfy
However, now that I check the files, we are sharing the same one. This should work on R3.0; it did before for me. It does not work on R2.0, but I did flash it and the board did not brick. Nevertheless, R2.0 still could not recognize my E7600, so back to Pentium IV.
