[REQUEST] Lenovo G500 (78CNxxWW) Whitelist Removal

This is interesting. It seems that the NWL version of this BIOS was recently available here on the forum, and a member even submitted it to be included in the repository for whitelisted BIOS, but it cannot be found anywhere on this site.

Unfortunate, as well, as the link provided by posted to the modded bios already shows the file as deleted.

Thanks for the reply and the link, however, the bios file is deleted from the server. Any chance u can re-upload the modded bios so that I may get it?

Also, please note that the BIOS on this Lenovo G500 is 78CN2422 V2.02. (Not 78CN23WW V2.01 as indicated on title of thread).

There is no link to the V2.02 BIOS on the Lenovo support site. I guess they have not published yet. But V2.02 is what is installed on the laptop.

Wow that was fast. Appreciate. Will report following flash and hardware install. Cheers!!!

Happy to report that FPT Operation Passed. The first flash attempt failed, but this was the bios region being locked was anticipated by Sovem, where when prompted to continue the flash then proceeded to completion.

Upon reboot had boot error, but going into BIOS and resetting Boot Mode and Boot Priority to Legacy put everything back on normal.

In looking at the BIOS, it seems that the patch made this a hybrid of 78cn23ww v2.01 and 78cn24ww v2.02, as both were listed on the Information tab as follows:

BIOS Version: 78cn23ww v2.01
EC Version: 78cn24ww v2.02

Will install the new wifi card this weekend when back from a biz trip.
