[REQUEST] Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E531 (HEETxxWW) Whitelist Removal
What SPI Programmer would you recommend to dump and flash the e531? (Is the SP200S, acceptable?)

I figured out my e531 is stuck on firmware 1.17, after trying every firmware upgrade 1.22-1.33 and having them all fail, whether run from the Desktop of a fresh Windows 8.1 Pro install, or a Bootable CD, it ALWAYS fails to allocate memory and update the BIOS.
But, apparently, one of those successfully updated the EC firmware, (neither AIDA64, HWInfo, or the 1.17 BIOS reveal the EC firmware version), because upon restarting my Genuine Lenovo Battery is now no longer being recognized as genuine and is not being charged because of the new EC whitelist.

Much props to Dudu2002 for the invaluable help keeping these computers alive!

Hi
CH341A+SOIC8 is enough for you

Sorry Dudu2002; I apologize if I clogged up your e-mail. And, for the delay in my response, I live in Amish Country, so I don't often have access to the internet.

I've uploaded the EC dump and diagnostic results to mediafire as you requested:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/l06256hzq...s.rar/file

Thanks in advance, I appreciate your efforts; If you know of a tutorial, I'd love to learn how to do the same thing myself in order to help others on here.
-------------------------------------------------------

I happened upon: https://github.com/mostav02/Remove_IntelME_FPT
Which notes: Connecting pin 18 SDA_OUT and pin 4 DVDD on the Conexant CX20671/CX20672 chip during power on, will leave the BIOS and EC both readable and flashable, until reboot.

Would this save other people the cost and hassle of buying and modifying an ISP Programmer?
Anyone already know the answer and want to save me the trouble? If not, I'll report back here, after I have a 3rd hand.
-------------------------------------------------------

Notes for other newbs, like myself:
Be sure to modify the black board CH341A Pro all over eBay, featuring a CH341B (2nd Gen CH341A), so all lines are 3.3V as they should be to not fry the chips:
https://www.reddit.com/r/coreboot/commen...rogrammer/

Also: The SP200S uses a CH340C and is compatible with Series 24 chips;
But our targets are both Series 25 chips (EN25Q64 & EN25Q32), thus necessitating the need for the CH341A.

Hello. Please help me remove the message about the unsupported battery. The original battery is not available in our country. The copy battery does not charge. thank you very much, I will be waiting very much.
I read two dumps from my laptop with a programmer.

Hello. Tell me, is the dump from e531_w25p32 and e531_w25q64 the same for all e531 boards? HM-A044. It doesn't matter what processor and whether there is a graphics processor
