Hello,

I'd like to make a request here for unlocking the BIOS of this device to have the ability of changing more settings (for example the whitelist) and the ability to do Hackintosh experiments as well as AHCI possibilities and other features that the BIOS is hiding in it's original state.

Model: Sony VAIO SVE1713Y1E (BIOS Release R0170D6 - Rev. 3.7)

BIOS Links (All four links refer to the exact SAME BIOS Release):

- Original packed BIOS file from Sony ("EP0000295577.exe")
- Unpacked "EP0000295577.exe"

- The Original Sony Download Link - Just in case you don't trust the dropbox files from a newcomer to this forum ;-)
- The Original Sony BIOS Download Page for this BIOS Release

Pictures of the menus:

I'd really appreciate to see some skilled member on this forum doing the unlocking process.

Thanks in advance.

I have found 3 locks, but I would get some Menu Tabs Screen Shots to look it better :

; Power (0x266)
0640 : 74 C9 to 74 00 jz short loc_18000060B to jz $+2
; Advanced (0x2C)
0647 : 74 C2 to 74 00 jz short loc_18000060B to jz $+2
; Advanced (0x475)
065D : 74 AC to 74 00 jz short loc_18000060B to jz $+2

Here is the Bios Decapsulated to use for mod :

I came tô same results as you friend BDMaster, I'm getting better Smile
The file friend BDMaster sent you is to flash using recovery mode, search for undocumented insyde recovery mdl in Google and see the tut at mydigitallife forum. Another way is flash with external eeprom programmer

I made a really bad mistake. I thought the R0170D6 from Sony's website was the same as the one that was on my SVE1713Y1E Notebook.

I flashed it using BIOS recovery mode but now my notebook won't show anything on the screen anymore.

When i try turning it on then it keeps blinking with the HDD's led light. After a while it turns off itself. The fan only tries spinning up but does this very low and then starts over and over.

So this is the current state:

Notebook (Vaio SVE1713Y1E) not booting anymore - BLACK SCREEN, HDD LED flashing, NO BACKUP possible, NO menu when using the "ASSIST" key. But the Notebook does trying to flash other ROM's when using recovery flash mode. It definitely reads from the USB stick.

I need someone with a SVE1713Y1E Notebook and a VALID R0170D6 BIOS ROM.

Please help me. :-(

This is bad...
What is the right BIOS for your notebook? Can you still enter Recovery mode?

Using the ASSIST key, i can't get back into VAIO recovery. But I can still enter recovery flash mode by the key combinations. The notebook then reads for about 30 seconds from the USB stick and switches off after 1 minute.

The BIOS was R0170D6 for SVE1713Y1E. The BIOS for SVE1713Y1R is possibly the same.

If you can enter recovery it may be fixable...
didn't you said "R0170D6 " was the wrong BIOS?

Oh wait, you flashed the BIOS from Sony in recovery mode? the 9.6mb one, encapsulated?

At this URL: http://www.sony-mea.com/support/download/554097

There is a R0170D6. But this one is not for the SVE1713Y1E as i got one. The model is simply not listed there.

But the screenshot at the beginning of this thread uses R0170D6 - i made those pictures this morning.

Yes, i flashed the 9.6MB binary file
