Scouring the interwebs for days. You guys are the only ones messing with this board at all. I recently picked up and eMachines with the MCP61PM-GM.

I know there is one other guy in here who has this board. Only difference between his and mine are the revision numbers. I have the 2.4

I looked around for any info on the revision change and all I could come up with was a couple of posts on TomshHardware where a couple of guys were saying it was up to gateway to give out revision history and they haven't.

Would love to try out the bios, but you see my predicament.

Any info would be awesome!
Total nub here. I have followed flashing instructions to the T but I can not get it to work I get the "Not award Bios" or the "file size mismatch" or "invalid source file" errors in awdflash every time I have reformatted usb several times and tried both bios versions Board is HP MCP61pm-HM rev 2.2 with phenom 9600 Any help would be great.

You have to flash using the linux/Ubuntu method. It's tricky if you've never messed with linux but it does work. The other flas tools won't work.
Could someone walk me through this because im a bit lost.
Hi all,

I recently had some time to play with this board and got a new BIOS working with native Phenom II CPU detection and overclocking!

So far it looks pretty stable. Fans can be controlled with with speedfan in windows. The smart fan calibration in BIOS will shut off CPU fan if enabled because board won't read voltages/temps right.

I tested this on version 2.1 of the board. IF YOU USE 2.2: flash at own risk. Even for 2.1 users err on side of caution, but its working great on my box so far.

For sleep/hibernate: It will work, but you have to wait until you hear harddisk turn off, then flip power supply switch. Do the same to resume from sleep/hibernate. It is recommended to use hibernate with this combo as with sleep you can't flip power switch on psu and then the CPU fan will continue to run.

Hey Whiz, do you remember the bios you made for the Aspire E380/T180? Some guy tried to install a Phenom II 905e with it and it wouldn't post. I was wondering if the bios you used to get that 910 running would work on the Mcp61sm-am since it uses the same nforce 430 chipset. Besides that, it seems like my only suitable upgrade option is a Phenom 9150e (which really sucks and will bottleneck my HD 7750).
Hi There,

I believe the E380 BIOS I used was the same as the one I used for the Nettle2. This BIOS would definitely not post on there has it is a 1MB image and those boards only have 512K BIOS chips.

You're still alive Smile Eh, then could I put a an x4 9750 in there, even though its 95w. Ive read somewhere that someone got an x4 9500 95w on his 65w (I've read through countless of pages about these boards).
It's been hectic for me but once in a while I get time to chat Wink TangoWhiskey is the only person I can remember who got the Phenom I working on the E380 but I never quite figured out how he did it when the same BIOS on the HP version didn't fire up the Phenoms.
Hey Wiz,

I've been reviewing the posts over time on this board (MCP61PM-HM Rev 2.2) and tried to flash the BIOS with file 61M27604.bin and got the error "The program file's part number does not match system!" then I tried with the switches and I get the message "Binary File is not Award BIOS!" I tried this with both above FN and renaming it bios.bin. The file you have available appears to be working as of recently, no? Any ideas?
