[REQUEST] Asus GL504GW Bios Unlock
#41
How large is too large? Maybe resize the images then, you can set your camera to certain size or file type before you start. I only need small images, 100kb-500kb is plenty jpeg or png etc, and resolution only needs to be 800-1000px or so.

I grabbed them this time, but I am on limited bandwidth, so this is not ideal for me, please next time setup camera for smaller images first (or batch resize in photoshop or irfanview)

Also, 7zip with Max Compression set, usually will pack in half or less size than zip or rar

* Edit - terrible! Every single image is sideways too Sad Never mind, they only looks that way in windows photo viewer Smile
You should be able to F12 screenshot to USB on this type of BIOS, it will save as BMP usually, but at least it would be pre-cropped and not 4k Big Grin

Batch crop, resize, save as JPG = 7MB download Big Grin

I'll get in there tonight and see what's missing

Root of Advanced is missing bottom, you need to scroll past "Smart Settings" so I can see rest of submenus. Same applies to many menus (Such as CPU Config submenu root, and CPU config - Power management, Memory Overclocking Menu, etc), but we can skip this I suppose, many little things missing here and there that most people would never use, so no real need to add stuff that's missing still. But, I would like to see rest of advanced submenu list, to ensure you have all the good submenus at least.

Here's new BIOS again, with some stuff fixed, empty menu hidden and few settings missing enabled etc -

I'm actually on vacation right now and won't be able to do anything until after the 7th of July. Sorry about that.

I'm willing to try it on my gl504gw.

Edit
I waited (about 1.5 weeks) because I wasn't sure if RocoCoco90 would respond.

For some reason the new bios has secure boot on and now i can't dual-boot linux Sad .

Everything runs on smoke, let the smoke out, it stops running.

noah0105 - any BIOS I posted here is user/board specific (has their serial etc in it), so you shouldn't use it. If you need mod BIOS send me your FPT BIOS region dump. As for secure boot, disable it in the settings (Default is disabled), this is unlocked BIOS so you should see it. Never mind, reading back I see we removed the page with this option. You will need to either enable it via grub using setup_var >> setup_var 0x26 0x1

Or, send me your original FPT dump, however, you have an issue now, you do not have any original BIOS region, so your serial number and any/all board specific info from the main BIOS region is lost. If you want, I can just change this setting for you, but you're stuck now with this other users info in your system.

I made a backup of my bios (16mb) using the flash programming tool before reflashing it and i also have the box of the laptop. also the Chipset tab doesnt really work(for me at least). When i changed the settings in chipset it froze my laptop at boot(not even a logo or sound)

EDIT the settings of the bios aren't stock but the image is (boot menu/order and maybe other things too)

That BIOS was not for your system, so that could be why, different NVRAM etc. Or, could be the settings you are changing in Chipset should not be changed, many settings that get unhide can brick a system or leave you with black screen and only way to recover is programmer or blind flash. Those are usually graphics settings, trying to disable this graphics and enable that, or switch etc. What are you changing exactly in chipset?

So the above is a programmer dump, before you flashed in the BIOS that was user specific (not you)? If yes, please re-attach it in a zip or 7zip, thanks.

the bios dump is the bios from my GL504GW-ES012T (dumped with the Intel CSME System Tools v12 r17 for windows 10) before i flashed the modded bios. And as far as was able to test the Chipset settings make my laptop freeze at boot and it doesn't matter what I change(audio, video etc).
And I re-attached the bios in a zip file

It matters to me, what are you changing, these may be things that do not apply to your system, or it could just be due to the BIOS wasn't from your system initially. No one else reported any issues, so possibly the latter, however maybe they didn't change same things you did. Please give me a list so I can check things out, what setting you changed and to what, otherwise no point in mentioning issues Big Grin

You need secure boot disabled correct?
