(07-06-2018, 09:08 PM)hyshamecho Wrote: I have flashed the mod but using old cpu, because when i use xeom it stucked after boot ,after i flashed the mod i go into window and shut down then power off and change to xeon cpu and it read my xeon e5450 as 2.0ghz, do i need update the bios or something? Driver?or the adapter is broken?

Your CPU may be partially incompatible with this motherboard: according to the Service Manual (v10) you can find around the net, it supports
  • Dual Core Processors with FSB 533/800/1066/1333 (this is imposed by the G31 chipset rather than the motherboard)
  • Quad Core Processors with FSB 533/800/1066 (same as above)
  • TDP of 65W (I suspect a VRM or thermal problem here due to the type of motherboard).
On the HP web page of MS-7525, Core2Quad or E8600 aren't listed (in fact they've higher TDP and/or FSB).

A Xeon E5450 has a FSB 1333 and TDP of 80W, so I wouldn't be surprised if it keeps crashing under heavy loads.

You should use quad core CPUs with FSB 1066 and a TDP under 65W. Other CPUs are working (e.g. a C2Q Q6600-6700), but I see a frequency cap of 2GHz in all the posted screens in this thread (I think the motherboard is bottlenecking them)

Please confirm or correct me about these observations if you find any error  Tongue

That could just be because they're not under load. But it's indeed weird to see all of them with similar numbers. Maybe someone could confirm?

Not a Xeon but a Core 2 Duo E8600. Works OK  with modded BIOS, correctly detected. 3.33GHz stock. Thanks.

Hi, I am planning to buy a xeon x5460 with a TDP of 120W. This is much higher than what I currently have (Pentium E2180 65W). Will it work with the MS 7525 or will it crash? I have a bestec 250W power supply with no graphics card installed

Hello. Been using the e5450 with the bios mod since 6th of september 2019 and everything is all good and well! Thank you. PC is a HP Pavilion 6145 and it now snappier than ever. Previously on the e8600 cpu. It now seems snappier for my 1080p video editing chores on videopad software. Now comes closer in export times to my i3 8130u lenovo laptop.

Regards
