#1
Hello, I am trying to reset my BIOS settings to default as incorrect memory timing caused it to fail to POST,Anyone know where the reset switch or CMOS battery is on this motherboard?? It is from the laptop ASUS N580GD. Here is a Picture of the motherboard with battery unplugged

Okay I have found that this motherboard does not have a cmos battery and instead saves the settings in the SPI flash chip, which also stores BIOS, but it does have recovery option, I removed the battery, held down power button for 30 sec, and after pluggin in AC power after battery removal, it booted successfully while also only resetting the memory timings!

"I don't think I see any CMOS battery in that motherboard, Asides from entering the BIOS mode during the start up, Other ways to enter BIOS Setup is to hold a key down during bootup, which may cause a keyboard error, allowing you to enter it.
Finally, if nothing else works, reset the contents of the CMOS on your motherboard by pressing a special CMOS clear button or moving a jumper to clear it. See details in your motherboard manual and also https://batterytools.net/.
Finally, if you can’t do any of that, remove the battery from the motherboard for a couple of minutes, and then reinsert it, followed by booting"
