Hi again. My bios is the official 1203 one from Asus repository. And the one that i had to remove was yours from your repository, wich is called 100%_ASUS-p5kc-1203_slic-ahci_mod_By_Camiloml.exe. This is the one that reported a strange mac address.

Sorry but Asus website doesn't allow to copy the link. You can go there by using:

http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SL...IGmLpwNMjj

Then choose Winxp and Bios. You will find the 1203 firm in 1st place.

I tried win 7 and OSX too (yes, osx) and both failed to find the net card. In fact osx reported a mac address like 000100000000001 (aprox). Can't remember wich was the mac address in win7 but wasn't found by the OS. It was the first time it happened to me after flashing a Rom, and i have flashed some.

this one? Download it and compare to be sure, i will compare with mine.

===========================================

As you can see bios files are not same.

I remade the mod using bios downloaded from asus as base.

Try it and tell me if you still suffer netword card issues.

No luck, same error, even installing OS from scratch. Only Linux worked!! I give up. Don't worry, for some strange reason it doesn't work in my MB. Thank you anyway.

Seems to me that you use wrong command line option to flash the image and the mac that is stored on the bios get blanked.

Flash your working one and then try this one without updating bootblock.

Welcome.
I have Asus P5KC.
Ok THX for the modded BIOS. IT IS WORKING for me. Big Grin
Recognized as AHCI controller, Installed AHCI driver. Smooth.
Of course first i enabled the AHCI driver in windows because the windows would not boot.
Instructions and even a tool to do it for you in here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976
But i did not get any improvement in reading speeds. Sad
And now i can safely remove all of my disks even system boot disk Sad and the icon for safely remove is always visible. Sad
But for now im staying with AHCI, will do some more tests Big Grin

OH and what about the Intel Robson Technology?? Should i enable it or not, what does it do?

Thank You camiloml.

Oh, camiloml, you've smashed this one, congratulations!

Either you haven't AHCI enabled or don't know what it's for. It's not for HDD.
