Will this BIOS work on an Acer Power M8 as both these machines use the same motherboard?

Hi,

To extend it's usefulness a bit longer, I'm to overclock my old T180 with AMD Athlon x2 2.10Ghz and mixed RAM that adds up to 2.5 GB. (but planning to add more). the stock bios locked overclocking of course, so i came heretr and found this thread. tried to flash with phlash16 and i keep getting an error saying something not found in the interface.

so i have 4 questions:

1. is this the exact same bios as the one for E380?
2. do i use phlash or awflash? the bios appears to be pheonix, but the thread for the E380 says awflash. and the forum seems to be for award bios. im confused.
3. should i try using the winflash that was oncluded with the download? i hear its risky and sometimes doesnt work.
4. how much can i overclock safely with stock cooling? it has a cpu fan as well as a fan below the PSU. i use this computer as a server thats on 24/7 and with moderate to high use on the processor (i host a minecraft server). any suggestions on settings?

I know this is an old thread, but i dont wanna risk messing up my MB so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Use awflash. Phoenix acquired Award Software in 1998. The complete name of this BIOS is "Phoenix-AwardBIOS"-- meaning "owned by Phoenix, but still uses Award BIOS technology". Big Grin

Your link is down, and could you also make a version of these bios that allows am3 processors to be used? I got a Phenom x2 555, its am3 and when I put it in my mobo my t180 won't turn on.
