It is allrigt, your newest bios dont let to downgrade (it is protection). So we can flash mod with programmer only!
I posted in here rather than creating a new thread because it is the same laptop. New to this forum found it while I was searching around for a way to remove the whitelist from my lenovo X230 laptop so I can add a 4G LTE wwan card most likely the em7345 via using a M.2 to Micro PCIe adapter, I know so programming and read the Russian tutorial (Yay Google translate) but I didn't understand all of it anyone willing to give me some help??? and teach me about modding bios so I can help others on the forum when I have spare time

Thanks.
Hello!
You must to know disassemblers, functions, procedures, conditional and unconditional jumps, algorhytms and loops.
Bios modding is dangerous work, as you can see there are so not much power users.
For me, bios modding is very interest work and i will help users for free if i never mod some bios before.
Each bios vendor compress bios by special algorhytms and it can be decompressed and disassembled by different methods.
Your Russian Tutorial tell you how remove whitelist from Insyde bios, but it is not alone....
So I need to go do a refresher on assembly I'm guessing because you said disassemblers??
If you undestand that functions and commands described in Russian tutorial, so you not need.
But, you need HW SPI programmer to flash mod because bios chip is write protected!
I thought I read something about a way to do it with rolling back the version of the bios
you can't if your current bios is the last one, no rollback possible
Not running the latest one I think I'm a couple versions behind
It might work. you just flash to the oldest bios

after that you flash it with a modded bios
but it is much better to do it with a programmer
because if something goes wrong you can restore it with the programmer , otherwise your computer might not start again
Da vinci code made me a mod bios I will try it when I get the programmer.
Since those bios are write protected it is a pain. With the X220 it was very easy to flash it and remove it
So what programmer would everyone suggest
