I have a question My model is 9ECN43WW, but the downgrade tool direct me to the downgrade for 1.13/1.14 for 9ECN31WW. Is it okay? still I did not start the process?

First time posting here so please bear with me.

I have sitting on my desk an Intel 7260AC wireless LAN card that I can't get to work with my Lenovo Y50-70. I understand that the BIOS needs to be unlocked to allow for the new adapter to work. How do I get about it? What are the steps? Idiot proof format please.
