That's great! Now the question is whether the System BIOS or the EC did the throttling.
In my own view,the conclusion is:
1.A00 BIOS can support the newest cpu and AMD cards,though the dell have not officially announce it~
2.the A00 bios can make the 29X0 CPU work at a higher 4-core full load frequency.when use A03,when I am doing a AIDA64 stablity test,the high 4-core full load frequency is 3500-3700,but when use the A00 BIOS,it raises to 4200-4500!!!!
3.The throttling is most likely did by the EC FW,I have tried the A00 bios without a correct EC FW from this thread:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/7731361-post14.html ,and the CPU throttling hadn't disappeared,but when I use the official A00 bios that get from barcode(great thanks to barcode again),the 4-core full load frequency fly to sky high~~~

I did NOT do anything special,just run the .exe file and it did the BIOS flash automaticly
the reason I think is the difference between the 6970m and 6990m is not huge,so the bios can recongnize it correctly,but the 6970m and 580m is truely two different kinds,so it can not be recongnized by the bios~!

He got it to work by just installing the exe a00 bios file i just uploaded.
I'll test Camilos file now i must have totally missed this so sorry!!
YES THIS A00 WORKS FOR THE 580M as well
For me on 580m at 800mhz on A00 bios so far no throttle in 3dfuturemark06 only!

lol just installed the aoo bios nothing else was needed ran the exe file.
Wow, I thought the support for those cards was added in A02. Please inform if this does remove all throttle

No throttle in 3dmark06 see pic
Excitement was over it lasted a good 5minutes ^0^
But THROTTLE STILL DETECTED IN 3DVANTAGE!
Oh well at least the cpu overclocks seem better and hold higher in A00!
Looks like it's offical vbios mod required NVIDIA is throttling!
What do i have to do Offer a huge REWARD perhaps!!
