Greetings dear experts,

Lenovo U410, 8GB mem.

Unfortunately it seems my bios update went wrong... when power on... nothing happens... Seem it damaged the bios somehow. not good and i have been trying to get it running for hours now.

What I would like to do;

1) create DOS bootable usb stick
2) adjust the settings that the stick will do a bios update automatically
3) pray it will perform the bios update.

But I don;t know how above should be done. I have been reading about this "pure dos" but not sure what that means.

or is there something else I can try?

the memory stick I am using has a buildin led to see activity... there is none...

Hope and pray there is a solution..

Thanks and regards, Onno

Good news! I decided to open U410 to disconnect battery and cmos battery. Only disconnecting the battery and performing the function +B combination did not help. But the moment I disconnected the cmos battery as well my laptop came to life again... And even better... it just worked again...

Perhaps there is an issue in the Bios where changing the boot sequence to usb floppy, usb disk, usb stick actually locks up the bios? And removing the bios battery fixed that?

Anyway. Good news the bios update actually did not happen. And it did not kill my laptop.

Case closed! Following the messages on this board with great interest. Would be nice if another wifi board can be installed. Just need to decide which wifi board is best to use. Any suggestions?

Best regards, Onno

In my Lenovo when I put another wirelles adaptor, the laptop start's up with several beeps and stays in first lenovo screen, I think it's the whitelist. I have tried 2 other WWAN adapter with the same result!!

I have backuped my rom with Universal bios sbackup 2.0

Can I get a whitelist on this Lenovo u310 bios? I backed it up with fpt.
I'm trying to change the OS and SecureBoot is giving me trouble.
