Hi,

I would like request WIFI whitelist removal of a U410 ideapad.
- official BIOS: 65CN21WW
- current WIFI hardware id: PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_31A117AA&REV_01
Thanks in advance!

As you know Lenovo has some of the most narrow whitelists and I would very much appreciate a mod to allow install of better Intel wireless cards, specifically dual band.

65cn13w was modded but that is pre windows 8, and 65cn15ww which hasn't been modded was the first windows 8 specific bios.

So either 65cn21ww or 65cn15ww modded to allow new wifi would be great.
Thanks in advance!

Woohoo; got it to flash using the winflash installer that comes with the original download from Lenovo. You need to replace the "environment.dll" file with the one from the following link:

http://199.91.153.201/2ofng1s3u9xg/02zam...onment.rar

Voila; no more "unsupported" error and it flashed successfully. Now to install a new card and see if this works.

Step by step:
1. Use universal extractor to extract the .exe file from Lenovo's site to a folder.
2. Replace the .wph file with the file posted in this thread with the whitelist removed.
3. Replace environment.dll in that folder with the one from the link above.
4. Flash and test!

It works like a charm! Thanks a lot!

And also I have another bios version installed (65cn15ww) I am not sure if it is ok to install 65cn13ww over mine. Do you know what the difference is between 15 an 13?

I am facing the same problem - i also have the 15-version. have you installed the 13-version over the 15 one and got it working? also, could you - or anyone else - please provide the 65CN13WW.exe since lenovo removed it from their support site?

regards

Yes, I did install 13 over 15 and it works without problems.
So, Lenovo just posted a new version of the bios on their site: Version 21.

Anyone want to take a shot at cracking this exe?

Woohoo! It works. As a heads up to other potential bios flashers, I had to install the stock v21 first, then remove the card, boot and install the cracked version.
